About the game
They took your freedom. It's time to take it back!
Freedom Fighters is an intense third-person action game set in an alternate history New York during the invasion of a foreign superpower. Take on the role of Chris Stone, a hard-working plumber, and rise through the ranks of the resistance to prove yourself as a charismatic leader.
Liberate supplies, scavenge weapons and use the 'recruit and command' system to grow the resistance and lead up to 12 freedom fighters into strategic conflicts throughout the campaign. Travel across the city and complete interconnected missions where your actions in one level affect the battles in another.
Originally released in 2003, IO Interactive's cult classic is now available digitally in its original form for the first time.
About the soundtrack
The Freedom Fighters Soundtrack features 18 tracks that are produced by acclaimed music composer Jesper Kyd. Combining live choir performances by the Hungarian Radio Choir with techno beats and other electronic instruments, Kyd effortlessly captures the vibe of the game and the epic quest to liberate New York from a foreign superpower.

I have never bought something this fast ever before! This is one of the most dearest games of my childhood!
The story is great (recommended for alternate history fans!)
The gameplay is fun
The graphics are simple, but they have aged decently
The game ends in a cliffhanger (not too bad, it stands as a good ending nevertheless) and the sequel never came, so take that into account!
I heard a lot about this game but never got the chance to play it originally. IOI basically nailed it - brought it back and allowed the resolution to be upscaled. The squad AI is surprisingly pretty good and the simplified squad controls can actually help set up your tactics properly. Plus where else are you able to command up to 12 other people? This is worthy of a next-gen remake and I hope IOI are taking note of the positive reception to this re-release.
Just wanted to confirm it runs without problems on Win 7.
Did just complete the first mission, easy mode is easy enough, controls are simple, atmosphere is great, soundtrack as well.
The graphics is of course outdated but doesn't look terrible.
Price is steep, though.
Giving it a 3 stars for now, probably will give more once I've played longer.
