Solid Narrative Experience

This game telegraphs where it's going a bit early on, but it does a great job delivering some unpredictability as things develop. It's a good "can't lose" game; you might have to wander a bit to find your way but I don't think there's any real risk of a game-over. If you enjoy games that are a little bit about what they make you think, and a bit more about how they make you feel (with a lot less emphasis on what you do or any real decision-making), this is definitely a solid experience. Finished over two nights in about 4.5 hours. The voice acting is great. The main hook is well-executed and leaves you getting genuinely excited to hear the other character's voice. If you enjoyed What Remains of Edith Finch but thought "this could have used about 12% more gameplay and freedom of movement" then Firewatch is a great option.

The suspense… is killing me!

Can't believe I nearly jumped out of my seat twice from this thing. Of course, I'm treating this like a one-off game. Just remember that.

It's fine

A very servicable game that I didn't warm up to until halfway through. The game is fairly short, but worth it, I think, if you're into interactive stories that aren't about shooting stuff. (not that there's anything wrong with that.)

An Enjoyable Playthrough

I thought this was a pretty good game, honestly. I'm a little mixed on the ending, it feels like it could have easily taken a different turn and I would have liked to see it expanded on more, but I ultimately I didn't feel as though the ending were a letdown and I could see how one thing led to another for the most part. The writing was great and there were some genuinely eerie moments in the middle section. It also captured that feeling of isolation and loneliness well. The voice acting is superb and navigating the wilderness was satisfying as well. I would definitely recommend this game, particularly when it's on sale, if you like an immersive atmosphere and realistic characters.

A Master Piece

Gorgeous, touching, charming, and thoughtful game that has stayed with me since I played it. It is a truly an experience I'd recommend to anybody.
