Definitely scarier than the first game, and more challenging. Decent variety of guns and big fights don't feel too contrived, game also tries to break things up with vehicle and turret sections. Quite a bit of fun but the levels do get pretty samey- dirty concrete rooms with minimal lighting or hospitals/school environments- yeah we get it, scary stuff but the first game's office tower was missed- especially since the environment in the original seemed more destructible.
Reborn is a tiny expansion- couple hours long at most with a massive difficulty spike for the final battle. Tries to introduce a lot of interesting scenarios like having no weapon but your fists or fighting powered suits in a breakable wall environment.
Ultimately a fair bit of fun though I think the main campaign outstayed its welcome a bit.
I played it on steam redoing it here on GOG says alot I'm playing it again xD
but the best part you get the Reborn as well so even better. I don't know why but I'm just a sucker for jump scares lol.
This game was really treated unfairly since it had a monumental task of living up to the original while the developers were fighting with their original publisher. Unfortunately it didn't live up to FEAR 1 but it was still a pretty good game. Single player was solid though short and the multi was by the books, but both modes still provided a good experience that didn't deserve the hate it got.
I had always underestimated this game but after i finished it , yeah , the game is good ! A lot of shooting . Only one drawback - there s no compass but the placement of the enemy helps you find the right way .
