F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin + Reborn

Well ... i loved Fear 1, i was a big fan so when this game came out i only saw consolitis. No manual saves, enemies are highlighted during slow-mo etc ... I was so mad they changed a lot of the game compared to the first that i never gave it a chance. When the game came out i just powered through it but could never get the foul taste of "betrayal" out of my mouth. I just finished it again ... And the truth is ... it's a good game. Yes i don't like the checkpoint system but this has good combat (some weapons feel a bit too light). It has a far better story than the first one because at least you get enough info to figure out what happens. There are a lot more environments, the first just plays for 90% in the armacham building. Anyway, give it a chance, it's a good game and the last good game (to me) from Monolith before Warner Bros corrupted them.

Yep, she is into you this time and in the last chapter your are literally into her... to make it even more awkward she is supposed to be a 14 year old girl. Well worth a playthrough, for FPS enthusiast's especially if on sale and the Reborn expansion is fun too. The graphics are fine for a 2009 game and the story is moved forward from F.E.A.R 1 but I agree the A.I. is not as smart this time but fun none the less. As usual do yourself a favor an follow the fixes at www.pcgamingwiki DOT com, the one for the mouse is a must and the FOV tweak is also welcome due to our much bigger monitors and higher resolutions than 2009.

This game is less about challenge and more about fun. The more you re-play it, the more you'll discover the what's fun about destroying squads in slo-mo in many different ways Compared to the original it has: - a dash button - more weapons types and environmental hazards - infinite flashlight - much shorter length - no puzzles - actual bullet trails - a replay chapter mode that allow to retain collected slo-mo powerups - 3 medikits instead of 10 - 4 weapons slots instead of 2 - Weapon types drop like rain - Less exploration, more complex tighter spaces - Encounters are playgrounds for your slo-mo skills - Adult Alma ;)

I read reviews that seemed to think this edition wasn't as good as the original. I really enjoyed the action and intrigue of the first game, but for me this game is as good with a nice upgrade to a whole new level of graphic quality. Of course, it has the same frustrating feature I experienced in the first one of at times wandering around the same area of the game for seemingly long periods of not being able to find a way to move forward in the game. That's when it helps to have a good memory. Four stars for me, but I don't know what game would be enough better to get five from me.

This sequel focuses more on the FPS side of the franchise, and much less on the horror one. To be more precise, they removed most of the creepy/sick, keeping only the jumpscares… Quite a shame, if you ask me. The game remains enjoyable. On the plus side, the gameplay is smoother and the graphics are more polished. But on the other hand, the ambiance isn't so great and the game is shorter. And the story? I don't even remember what it was about.
