Please note: With GOG GALAXY you can skip updates you dislike by either disabling the auto-update option (for your whole library or per game) or by using the Rollback Feature and choosing the game version that you want to have. Game is broken after all those years
I swear I give up. If you are up for heavy fight with configs, mods and what not - give it a try, go ahead, on ultra settings game crashes every once in a while. Go on read dozen of pages of tutorials how to make mods work which actually fix game to make it somehow playable. After that find out that anyway there are game breaking bugs like NPC stuck in a wall and regions out of which you are locked out anyway which wont be fixed by mods. Even with mods graphics look worst than Fallout 3, depth is terrible (yes,no, maybe dialog options). Give me a break if this is what Bathesda is doing theese days, I would have to completly have no respect for myself to buy starfield or other garbage they are spitting out. I'm done with this game.

One of my favorites of all time
I love every Fallout - yes, even 76. While the roleplaying takes a hit (see caveat below), 4 has the best gunplay is the series. I see the story get criticized a lot, but I was surprised at how much I liked it. You spend so much time searching for your son and when that search is over... Well, I don't want to spoil it but there are a lot of subtle notes in that meeting that I think fly under the radar of many, particularly those who aren't parents. While dialogue options take a hit and you essentially play as a predefined character (sure, you can change how they look or decide which of four dialogue options to choose), there are still some great possibilities for roleplaying. You awaken from a deep freeze to an unrecognizable landscape filled with destruction and danger. Will you strike out and explore bravely? Will you try to rebuild? Will you cling to the training and tradition you knew from your time in the war, before the bombs? I went with the latter - the shock of awakening in this world drove my character to rely on the regimentation of military experience. The familiarity and rigidity of military life provided a sense of comfort. I helped out the Minutemen at first but then I met the Brotherhood of Steel and that was that.

Hours of fun
Got this just to have it, on sale is a no brainer. 1500+ hours on steam, this is my favorite fallout and one of my favorite games ever. 3 and NV have more impactful rpg choices and dialogue, but 4 is infintely more playable with the settlement and crafting systems, combat, and loot.

dont like it, realy wanted to like it but find it janky. clunky UI, with everything on a retro wrist screen, i find it awkward. as is building UI, seems like a weekend filler project by devs. combat is on par with skyrm so dont expect much. its hyped up but fail to see why. it just feels off.
