Intended for actual fans of classic JRPG
If you're not already into classic JRPGs this probably isn't the game to start with these days but for fans of classic JRPGs and obviously Suikoden in particular this is great. It's not revolutionary and only time will tell if it's a masterpiece but so far definitely can be considered one of the best classic style JRPGs that has come out in a long time. Apparently it's also not suitable to individuals overly sensitive and have difficulty dealing with minor localization changes. I'd recommend to avoid if certain ambiguous buzzwords trigger you at the mere mention or a tantrum may ensue.
