does what it was supposed to!
modernises the game for modern systems. the original version can be difficult to get running properly even when following guides and such.
the ui is bigger for the resolutions of today
it is honestly the same game with a small graphical upgrades, nothing masive, like a nice make up, .
UI works great, game works great, I have never noticed anything gamebreaking, it is a very fine game, according to some the best crpg experience thanks to really big amount of additional campaigns and everything.
Would I suggest the game to someone who already has the original- no, probably not.
But if you never had the opportunity to play this game before this title is perfect intro, great plot, fun characters, interesting interactions and quests.
A worthy purchase
This is pretty much what i expected. Is it a new game? No. Does it run perfectly smooth in 4k with enhanced textures? Yes.
Does it mean for a small amount of money i can now run the original game in high res with enhanced textures and super smooth camera with no problems? Yes.
If you are expecting a massive graphical upgrade - you aren't going to get it. But it does look better, and it does run better.
I'm starting the expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, that i never got around to playing back in the day. Its good.
If they did major changes to the game people would complain that it was no longer true to the original - so can't win.
This is original game plus.
If you played the original and are OK with shelling out a little money to have it run much better: go ahead. If you're poor/tight with money and would rather do with mods and screwing around - do that.
If you're expecting an upgraded game to complete with something like BG3 - no this is not that, and you should not expect that.
