Love the game! Hate that it's only FP
I've been playing it an loving it for 2 hours now but now I have to stop because Im so severely nauseated. It's a pity and it makes me thankful I got it free from amazon Prime. But it's frankly really beautiful and very immersive. But as much as I love it I will probalby have to pass on it if it makes me this sick.

Underrated Series
Honestly, I bought Dishonored 1 a long time ago and just didnt finish it. However, I got a lot of freetime during the pandemic which led me to clean out my backlog of games. Seeing a sale combo on gog for all the Dishonored games, I thought why not. cheaper to rebuy 1 to get the rest! Well, after beating both games in marathon, and now slowly working on the third installment. I have to say Dishonored 2 is an a sequel done right. It takes all the parts that made Dishonored 1 great, and amps it up with some of the best leveling design I have ever seen. I love the player choice in tackling missions and skill trees. The graphics and sound are going to age well, the colors pop, textures are really high def, and the world building makes you feel super immersed. Please just buy this game and support Arkane. They deserve the best <3

Immersive sim with diverse possibilities
Dishonored is a wonderful addition to the Thief/BioShock genre. Excellent world-building and character upgrades meets level design that allows for numerous approaches and possibilities. Everything in the game world is well-thought out. If I try to scale a fence with spikes, I get hurt. If I try to sneak by guards while carrying a body, they get suspicious. If I show up at a party with guns drawn, I get a lecture. I can use blink to zip past a guard shooting and make him shoot his own colleague. Every mission allows for every possible combination of playstyles. You can go full frontal assault. You can just kill minimally and surgically. You can sneak by everyone. Or you can play hacker style, rewiring all the alarms and security system. And the parkour is excellent. Arkane would later adapt these mechanics to Prey, and they aren't as smooth here as in Prey, but the still great movements of climbing, jumping, and sliding are on full display, and a joy to use. Everything is fun about this game, including trying to find all the secrets. If you like the FPS/RPG genre, this is at the top of the class.

So much better than Dishonored 2
I have played both 1 and 2. Both of them are low budget games to be honest. No CG cutscenes. Both games have final bosses that die in less than 1 sec at the highest difficulty. That means no epic battles exist. However, Dishonored 2 is about a witch with supernatural power so you automatically assume that you are going against someone much stronger than you. That's where it fails hard. Dishonored 1 is just about normal people who want to take over the empire. That's why the story is much more believable. Dishonored 2 tried too hard to be sci-fi and failed hard. Dishonored 1 is stealth action game with supernatural power. It gives you option to be either stealthy or kill them all. I honestly don't see a difference between these two except the final ending. I much prefer kill over slow and stealthy. I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer but normal is too easy and there is no challenge at all. I recommend hard difficulty even to an average gamers. There is also very hard mode. I got it for $5 during winter. Now it's back to $20. This is a very good game for $5, but I can't recommend it for $20. Dishonored 2 was $10 during sale but it was a huge waste of money and time. Dishonored 2 was all about witches and it was just not interesting enough. The only thing I liked was clocktower soldier but that's about it and I only saw less than 10 of them throughout the entire game.
