Broken mess
GoG should be ashamed of themselves for selling such a broken stuttering mess.

I think this game was largely mediocre
The Good I liked that you could upgrade your abilities. I think the story was alright. There were multiple paths that you could take to go into places. You can save whenever you want. The Bad There was only 1 animation used throughout the entire game, when you talk to woman characters, including bosses. The hacking minigame gets boring and repetitive fast. And when it says 15% to be detected, it’s lying. For some hacks that I did, it consistently triggered the alarm even though it said 15%. The thing is, I have hacked in the game so many times, that when it used to say 30% or 50%, I had a better chance of not setting of the alarm. And when you had to hack stuff that was mandatory to pregoress the story, the 15% detection seemed to work. It’s like, when it’s crucial to the story, the let you do it properly but when you are just hacking hard stuff and you have the detection at 15%, because of all your upgrades, the game cheats and that’s bullshit. The game was too long. They reused a ton of assets so levels look like places you visited before. Hong kong radios have that same English conspiracy guy talking. Books and text on stuff are in English. The commentary was done bad. You can’t see where it is, you just have to walk and hope you hear a sound or an icon to begin listening to it. And when you commentary on, it will go on through cutscenes. So if characters in the game were talking, the commentary will be on top of it and you’ll be hearing both of them at the same time. The commentary was a bad job. Conclusion At first when I was playing the game, I thought it was really good, but the more I played, the more I realized that the game actually wasn’t very good. It was mediocre. So, the game was not entirely bad but not good. It’s living off the name and ip of the game made before it and the game was made by entirely new and different people. I bought all the new deus ex games and now I’m left here thinking I wasted my money.

Stupid design choices.
The game's story was interesting so far, but the gameplay and design choices didn't make sense to me, and made the game unfun, I quit it pretty early on (so maybe it's better later, but I doubt it). First, the game is set in the US (with its easy access to guns and ammo). In the first past-prologue mission, Jensen, who is the megacorp's chief of security, got so little ammo it ran out FAST. What, they could't find or afford it? Therefore forcing the stealth approach on the player, even though other ways would make sense, too. (and the game lets you try direct combat... only not giving you the means for it, even though it doesn't make any sense, in-universe) Second, Jensen, an ex-SWAT and now a cyborg, cannot climb over the about 2 meter fence. Really? And a nearby dumpster on wheels, which I probably would be able to move (to use it to get over the fence), is apparently "too heavy". (unless you spend points into upgrading your cybernetics for extra strength... man, people of the future must be horribly weak) Alternative route into that place was over the floor, which had lose power cables shooting sparks all over it, making the player move two crates, one ahead the other, all the way through. It's not very challenging or difficult, just very dull. I got through first half of it, then decided, that I had enough, cannot be bothered with the rest, and quit then and there. If you don't mind being forced into stealth approach (even though other ways should also be possible), and can deal with all of the above without it breaking immersion etc. for you, the game might be fun I guess. Otherwise, you might want to try something else.

Director’s Cut is Trash
The original game is absolutely brilliant. The Director’s Cut is a weak, sorry Wii U port that manages to both take an axe to the visuals at a technical level (bad textures, degraded 3D models) and simultaneously destroy the ambience (world colors drastically shifted). Find a copy of the original and avoid this GOG release like the plague.
