Descent

60 fantastic levels for less than a fiver! For those who've never played it before the basic gist is that something went down and you're the guy they've sent in to fix it. You've got to navigate your way through the mazes finding keys to advance to the reactor to blow it up, then you've got a mad dash to find the exit. So it might be worth finding the exit first. In your way are hordes of enemies that've gone haywire, so thankfully your ship comes with weapons as standard. And with a little exploration you can find even more than your bog standard Lasers and Concussion Missiles, like Quad Lasers, Homing Missiles, Plasma Cannons, Vulcan Cannon etc... There's also some items out there, for example to help you in dark areas find the headlight, or for a quick getaway get the afterburner! Descent also features some boss enemies, so there's a good deal of variety here :) The only downside is the speed of the mouse, it's very slow. But, for the price, if you like FPS', then you can't go wrong. It's just brilliant :)

It doesn't matter what I play over the years, nothing has surpassed Descent.

This game is still as fun as it used to be. I recommend using DXX-Rebirth, as it enables high resolution (well of course models are still low-polygons), 16/10 aspect ratio and good controller support, while still retaining the original feeling. I personnaly play with the Xbox 360 controller and it's really confortable. This game is stil unmatched and really brings a lof of fun.

Love the game so many mind twisting level of just blowing shit up. Love coming back over and over to play this game.

To tell you all I have really injoyed playing this 1 again, Descent was 1 game that certenly bought back a hell of a lot of nostouger & memory's, vertialy all through playing Descent it just bought about emotional feelings of times past, how ever having played & completed (Descent 1) when playing (Descent 2) I couldn't for some reason turn down the damned music I could only turn down the FX volume but not the damned music, The music in D2 is so bloody loud that it drains out the FX sound in the game and also I even tryed to go to setup to try & turn down music volume but cant for some reason, None the less I.ve certenly injoyed playing Descent 1 though
