Everything about Deep Sky Derelict seems to have been done right, from the synthwave soundtrack to the lore to the unusual combat system. It's rare that a game with procedural elements holds my attention for long, and rarer still that an RPG can show me something new.

Deep Sky Derelicts is a decent little adventure that cares more about the journey than the destination. The problems are enough to keep me from loving it, but the combat is addictive and the exploration, while annoyingly simple, rewarding. If you're a fan of roguelikes, dungeon crawlers, or sci-fi RPGs, it's worth checking out.

Love it - but too short
This game is awesome and completely satifies my addiction to turn based RPGs. The artwork is beautiful and there are some great mechanics in the game. My only complaint (apart from 100+ evasion enemies and you have no Razor Nets or a Medic) is that it's a bit too short. It'd be great to see: * Other star systems * Some backtracking (unlocking a new area in other derelicts that you visited previously) * More side quests * Respawning derelicts to farm loot * A way to reset your skills (cost maybe 10,000 chips per character if level 10?) * Something else to do with your money! I'm really looking forward to the next one! Keep it up guys!

Unique and good, not great
A unique combination makes the game feel unique compared to Hearthstone, Darkest dungeon, FTL and Into the Breach. It tries to match Darkest Dungeon 1, I havent played 2. The balance isnt quite there but the grind of Darkest Dungeon made me give up on it. - Story 3/5 There is an interesting concepts on the machines. - Balance -4/5 Some combos are strictly broken as you get into the midgame. You wont always draw them and there is some counters the enemies have. -Grind 3/5 If you play Hardcore you want to do every side mission as you cant reload.

A fun game
I don't like many games, and I really like this one. That atmosphere is great. The upgrading system is great. The quests are interesting. The different classes of characters are nice.

Better get some dice ...
Not worth it, even for free. Artstyle is .. well .. it is what it is. Combat is roll-a-dice, random and always the same - you don't have any tactical or strategic influence, just advance your units and that takes ages. The background music is quite nice, but it's always interrupted by that stupid victory-jingle.
