While it can be me that I simply don't get the "card" games, this one is really overly simple. You play two, three, maybe four missions and that's about it. True, you can get some experience and gain some levels for your characters but it doesn't change much gamewise. Just that you can tackle a bit stronger opponents. But the game itself is just boringly repetitive.
Most of the game consists of trying to find pieces of equipment and mods for them that let you keep up with the spiky combat difficulty scaling.
The game feels unfinished. Could easily have about triple the content.
pretty good and light weight Darkest Dungeon like game... less punishing and thus it leads to more ..just one more turn, one more mission..oh is that the sun?
The game itself is great.
I very much enjoyed Darkest Dungeon, but that game has some serious balance issues making it virtuallyunplayable at some point (unless You really have time and patience...)
DSD is better - some fights are very challenging, but enemies are killable.
The biggest issue I see are the bugs:
- When You try to collect stuff and it turns out Your inventory is full, the game sometimes blocks the buttons "Open PDA" and "Options from scanner view. The only option is either to start a fight, click ESC and load or to get to a landing zone and from there to the station. unfortunately sometimes You cannot even move on scanner view in such cases, so You need to close program and restart.
- In combats with a lot of enemies (esp. station defense) the system messes it up, so the enemies on the battlefield do not match the actual enemies - You attak a piratech and a Buddynought gets hit. In extreme cases, there are just 2 enemies in combat but You can see 5 on the battlefield - the "fake ones" don't attack, act etc, but you can hit them and kill them too, even though it does not affect your victory. Irritating.
-Sometimes, when you try to leave the station and attack happens, it will happen again after the combat and attach will be repeated unless You leave the station instead.
Those are irritating, but didn't make me enjoy the game less. Thus 4 stars.
