Darwinia - 10000th Anniversary Edition

I just fell Immersed in love with the style and play of this game. Story, Inteface, Menus, Options, Sound, Visuals. Everything in the right place for me.

A fantastic game with a variety of intuitive controls and great gameplay overall, contrary to what people say of Darwinia costing only $10 I payed £30 in England when it came out for my boxed edition of the game and I have no regrets buying it at that cost, as well as buying it again from a recent humble bundle, stunning game.

This game is so different from anything else out there, that if you have only 10 bucks in this decade to buy a game, fork it out for this one. I liked the pre-update control system better, worth to give both versions a shot. A gem, it will always be on my top 5 list. I truly wish the Introspective guys will come up with something at least comparable to Darwinia.

This game deserves more attention though it can be hard to pick up on controls..

This is a game I really wanted to like: I read all the positive reviews; and yes, it's different than your typical fantasy setting, but that's it. First of all, the camera control for the 3D world is terrible: it uses a combination of mouse and keyboard that's very difficult to get the hang of. Even after an hour of play it will confound you and make you seasick. Then, there are the missions. The enemy in this game is a virus you have to exterminate with some soldiers. They are slow to move around and hard to control, but that's the fun part. Then, there comes the rescue part, where you have to painstakingly coax 150 (sic!) green men around a map. They are much slower than the soldiers and much more tricky to control: a nightmare. After an hour of boring micromanagement and more seasickness, I saved 8 green men. At this point, I gave up. Even at the discounted price I paid for it, this game isn't worth the money. At full price, run away from it! (I gave 1 star because it's the minimum, but I really meant zero stars.)
