Much better than expected!

I am so happy that the Darksiders series continues. The dual Character mechanic works really well and it lets you play splitscreen co-op! I'd love for more games to to that. Just like Darksiders 3 it is built on the Unreal Engine 4. I had 0 crashed after 20+ hours. If one does not like the rather heavy Vignette effect it can be adjusted via console commands. I used the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, but in the end I kept it at stock. The Artist who worked on this game are Masters of their craft and after turning it off i get why they chose to use the Vignette effect. I esspecially love that many of the enemies from previous games are back and that the have the same attacks and moves. Or allmoste the same. Also Wars movement and mechanics feel very similar to DS1. Voice acting, artwork, music and sound effects are all on AAA niveau. The usual enviroment locks and backtracking are present, like in the previous titles. Just like always we only the snipets of the bigger story. The story that I have seen so far is very solid, compared to the other Darksider games. As silly as the knock knock jocke was it still made me laught :-) Great Game - looking forward to DS4

Cool game

More important, don't be scared the first lavel, it's only intro. But and in intro you can see, how is greate this game, big locations, greate epic music, and a lot of secret. Game have whery interesting puzzels, and if you can find most of them, game giving you interesting present. War and Strife, both of characters unfold smoothly and very interesting. You beleave in his motvations and emotions. Minus, it's camera, I died more than 10 times, because I don't see enemy, or road, or secret. But I really want to see DLC for this game!!!

Darksiders is back as it should be

If you played the 3rd game in the series and felt out of place, you won't be disappointed this time The gameplay is much more similar to the 1st game (my personal favorite) with a little of backtracking at the end of the main story (16 chapters + 1 bonus mission that you will be able to find only after completing the story) and the arena is totally fun to play around for increased perks Pro: Good level design and pesky puzzles to fiddle with Responsive controls, combos, evade and parry tactics work as expected (moddable with proper cores) Great Sound Lovable graphics and art design You can truly enjoy your character progression without feeling like a newborn baby at first run (on Normal, don't bother Hard at first run) Cons: Glitchy at times (nothing game-breaking, that's why I said Good level design and not Great ): > Stuck in invisible walls at times > Execution prompt and/or health bars not always visible > Dead bodies floating to the sky if executed on uneven terrain 38+ hours of fun (counting 1 run at Normal difficulty and 1 run with Apocalypse difficulty to collect all the collectibles left behind and a few quests missed, all arena levels completed and infinite arena cleared at wave 105 with something like 500k souls and all Cores collected and leveled to Max) Played it, Loved it The price (33$) is just right (I also pre-ordered it, to show my support to the devs; they earned it with this title)

A worthy addition to the series

Own it on a different client and played co-op. Story, lore, writing, Dialogs, voice acting, atmosphere, rounded and continuously rounding characters, sense of comradery, in and out of character jokes, world, etc - all amazing and on par with the other installments in the series.\ Combat - the game's dominant mechanic - is fun and dynamic, mechanics themselves are very fluid and the character development part is confusing at first but quickly grew up on me.\ In a bit of a contrast to the other Darksiders installments, backtracking is mainly focused in a single level (the main hub) as areas in it are getting more accessible as the special abilities are unlocked throughout the champagne.\ Highly recommended on its own and a must for Draksiders fans.

Fantastic game with some bugs

Story, characters, presentation, gameplay are spot of and simply fun. If you blast though the levels game can be short. But if you like to collect everything and do the side quests. Which does help in the long run. Then the length is greatly extended. There are some bugs like glitching through the floor which happneed only twice. With some of the platforming and animations glitching/bugging out a little. Though these are few and far between meaning they don't disrupt the flow. Overall great spin off that adds much to the story and lore to the darksiders universe. Hopefully they build on this vision of darksiders so we have a great darksiders 4. With all 4 hoursemen shown together instead of one or two.
