Dont wast your cash
warning !!!gogs version of this game is not right for win xp or 7. i only paid 5.99 not the 9,99 they had on it earlier. it should never have been put out with so many problems.

One of the best
As a long time RTS fan, I've been through Starcraft and the Warcraft games, and they've always had their problems. Starcraft mainly shallow - never really a solid story. Warcraft got left in the dust because they went MMORPG with it. Command & Conquer has always been the 'RTS King' - never has been a doubt about that. It set the ground for the genre, and placed it on the map and set the tune for RTS. Even though EA killed it. Not a single game I have played to date, has been as challenging, as balanced, or as fun as Dark Reign. Still love the game today, still play it. Have yet to beat the campaign...the extreme balance of the game is to such a degree, a single mistake can get you utterly destroyed. The AI challenges the player, and can think fast and react as fast. Sometimes does act a little...stupid, yes. Maybe a little bias...but even though for as old as it is, it seems to have aged fairly well - all things considered. The game is still great, and still among the best RTS I have ever played, right there along Red Alert...fighting for the NO1 spot.

a MUST-PLAY among games in RTS history
Like RTS and haven't played the following? Then you better find them. Blizzard RTS games, Westwood RTS games (before EA acquisition), Rise of Nations, AoE, Total War series, Dawn of War1 ... and Dark Reign(not2)

MY FAVORITE SCI-FI RTS GAME!!!!!
This Game needs to be REMASTERED! I really love the atmosphere in this Game, its so dark. That, because the Game is called "Dark Reign" haha! I love everything in this Game! Especially the maps and factions. The Game campaign is also good, but what I want in RTS Games is Skirmish Mode with many maps to choose from! I always loved playing Skirmish Mode with AI's! And MORE IMPORTANTLY.. I HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING THE GAME IN WINDOWS 10! Yes! You heard me. "NO PROBLEM RUNNING IN WINDOWS 10!" WITH "NO TWEAKS OR COMMUNITY PATCH AT ALL!". I assume GOG have been patching this Game to make it run in modern systems! Thank you very much GOG! I hope GOG will still support this Game in the future!
