The title of this is a bit of a joke, but the story told was done very well. Excellent voice acting and fun asides shown via player investigation. This is going to be my recommended adaptation when people ask how to get into Lovecraft's writing.
A straightforward telling of Lovecraft's short story with nice visuals. Takes about 45 minutes, depending on how long you linger, though there's not a lot of variety at all when it comes to locations. At any rate, I enjoyed it. Another Lovecraft short, "The Temple", would make a great companion book to this one. Recommended.
I really liked this! Its so well done for a short game like this. The voice and the design is really adding to a great atmosphere.
It would be great to see more of these developers in the future!
A great depiction of one of my favorite short stories of all time, although it has some flaws that are purely based on depicting the source material faithfully. Seeing the whole monster makes the experience less threatening because one of the key aspects of Lovecraft's perception of fear is that it is unknown. I think if they took a liberty and only showed some part of it, that would make it more terrifying. Another problem I found is the general gameplay. Passionate, no doubt. But it would be better as a walking simulator, not a slide-show-like or a visual-novel like. My conclusion is that this game definitely deserves a try (it is free, such a great price!!) 7/10
