Good Underrated Game - Could be Better

I am playing this game on a top of the line gaming laptop and have had almost no technical problems, so I can't speak to that complaint. This game has gotten a bad rap, but I consider it generally fun and interesting, albeit with a few weaknesses. I've played through twice so far, once as a Nomad and once as Corporate... Pros: - Detailed and very immersive open world environment. If you can appreciate scenery, this game has it. - The story itself is interesting, at least the first time. - I think the gameplay generally handles well - the weapons system and vehicle system feel very similar to Grand Theft Auto. Cons: - This game is "open world," but it lacks "freedom" that good open world games have. You pretty much have to follow the story, or do an occasional side quest, and that's it. There are no options to join a faction, to make choices that drastically change the story, to destroy competing factions, etc. - If you don't like listening to story and dialogue, you may hate this game. I've been playing in a foreign language to help my language skills, so I am deliberately listening to (and enjoying) almost all dialogue... a normal player may not feel the same way. - Overuse of raunchy content unnecessarily. I get it, this is supposed to be a futuristic cyber degenerate society, but the raunchy content throughout is a little too much. The mustache guy with the woman's rear end in his face just gets annoying after a while. If I could change one thing about this game, it would be to increase the freedom of gameplay. Give the option to join the Corporation, and take over the city - or join the police and rid the city of gangs, or join a gang and destroy the police and other gangs. Give more romance options, and create a way for true character customization - not just appearance and talent points. Let me get a gun arm (FF7 Barrett style), a jet pack, or an electric whip - just imagine what you could do with the virtual environment. That's what's missing.

Gosebumps

Really love this game! Have not encounter any major bugs that destroys the gameplay, a floating cigarette and cellphone. I have not played GTA since ViceCity so maybe I don't know what I'm missing from GTA V or other similar open world games, but from my perspective it is an absolute excellent game! The atmosphere is spot on with all the cinematic effects, graphics, the overall style, the story, quests, the tension and the music! Gosebumps all the time :D I have a limited time to play each week so the quite streamlined main story is very helpful of not loosing track. But with the limited time there is also sometimes a little bit too tedious dialogs (they are skippable however). Really love the Myst and Fall Out series but this game blew my mind what a computer game could deliver in art design and cinematic feel!

Actually, this game is awesome!

I bought the pre-order hype, I heared the release reviews and this game neither lives up to the hype nor is deserving of the negative reviews. This is an amazing game, with a decent story and some questionable design issues, but make no mistake it is a great bit of fun to play. Get it and lose yourself.

A lot of wonderful impressions!

The game has bugs, yes, but it doesn't matter. The story, the music, the gunplay, the voice acting, the characters, the atmosphere, the scenery, the lore -- everything is so well done! I was never bored, I always wanted to see more, to do more. And I always had feelings about what was happening. I cared to see every ending, did almost all missions, and still remember nearly every character. The game constantly made me think about its world, its people, and I will definitely replay it one day.

Loved every minute of it

THE GOOD: Alright, just finished the game and summed up my impressions. As of now I have close to 99 hours put into it and I LOVED IT. Honestly, I loved the side quests, I loved the gigs and main story quests really pack a punch. I would even go far to say that I enjoyed side quests and gigs even more than main quests. Just chilling in the Night City, doing some gigs and blasting gonks, great time. Crafting system is really helpful. Hacking is great, can not get bored of it. Melee is alright, did not go for melee build, but I do enjoy chopping some gonks with mantis blades from time to time. Cyber implants are great, you can get great gameplay variety in there. THE BAD: I had almost no issues with the game (crashed once , some weird vehicle issues when I am driving really fast and collide with something), but other than that, really smooth experience. Driving can be better for sure. Cars really do feel like they are sliding across the surface, instead of gripping. So most of the time I wasn't even driving cars, but Kusanagi bike, great for city traffic and it's really fast. I had some strange issue with Judy's side quests, for some reason they took reallly long time to activate. That's all I can think of. SUMMARY: Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game. I enjoyed every minute of it and I think it's worth a full price at this point. If you can get it at a discount (which do happen from time to time), don't miss that opportunity. Looking forward to expansion packs and hopefully we will see Witcher 3 quality in them. Fingers crossed. Disclaimer: I bought the game at 1.5 update, so my experience reflects the game in that state onwards.
