If we compare Cyberpunk 2077 to Witcher 3 then we will see that this game is just empty. Atleast in Witcher 3 we had Gwent, in Cyberpunk 2077 there is nothing to do after you clear all side quests/gigs and NCPD missions.
You would expect a progress from CDPR but Cyberpunk 2077 is a downgraded Witcher 3.
So far been a decent game but what is really messing with it are the bugs and lack of polish. Some of the bugs are quest breaking and it will make you simply reload a previous save game because if you didn't follow a specific order, that was enough to break it. Happened to me in two quest and is annoying.
Some quests are really good, very few are just meh, others you wish they were longer.
AI... they really need to work on it. Combat is fun but later in the game you will become way overpowered and is where you will notice the lack of AI tactics.
Loot and quest specific items sometimes don’t make any sense, you can get a legendary/iconic item from a quest just later to find out a better version of it, labeled as common and dropped by a random guy...
Night City looks like a real city but there are some details they need to work out. Traffic with cars and people walking, sometimes is really really bad. One thing that hurts this game is the lack of more interactive environment, currently there are a very few stores you can interact with and NPCs feel like they are all the same, the lack of… how can I say it… randomness on how they react to you.
I understand this game is huge and complex but the number of bugs and lack of polish is hurting pretty bad what could have been an excellent game.
Unacceptable to get a half-baked product and then wait months to get it fixed. You got my money this time but it won’t happen again.
An advice to those new to the game: Save your game prior starting a quest. Believe me, it will save you a lot of frustration in the long run.
As my title review says. It is a good story but very little to do, most of it is the same quest types over and over again. Much content was cut and still too bugged. CD project red's immoral practices on hiding game information and lying to us is inexcusable. I now will never pre order again.
Diluted, yessir!
The game tries to deliver extremely great narrative - however, overbloated leveling/crafting, bugged looting/shooting and excessive amounts of walking (curse you, crazy taxi mission which triggered too early for me so I'm stuck without wheels AND without fast travel points!!!) absolutely negates all possible joy from said narrative.
And that's not mentioning bugs.
I really enjoyed 10 hours I spent on this game. But it's extremely unlikely that I'll return to it (not mentioning recommending it to anyone), ever, since:
- as Bioshock Infinite successor, it's really overbloated with narrative-irrelevant activities which consume playtime for playtime's sake
- as Borderlands successor, it's extremely bugged, overcomplicated and with too long pauses between combat engagements
Well, at least game's world is not even remotely as sterile as GTA's. It looks REAL. It feels REAL. But - see above regarding narrative...
