The game's setting and overall aesthetic is incredible. I'm completely in love with the art style and the devs and voice actors do a great job making it feel real (at least for the story).
However, there are just too make issues with this game to allow me to reccommend it to anyone, fans of CD Projekt Red or not. For example, not being able to remap certain keys like interact is just so stupid in 2020. The fact I have to go into the inputusermappings to change that is just dumb.
And oh my god the pop-in in this game is easily the worst I've ever seen. Cars from a distance will just vanish without a trace and others will magically be pulled from the fourth dimension just so I can crash right into them. Other pop-ins like road signs, railings, debris on the floor all don't exist until you're a set distance to them then poof, there they are!
NPCs have some of the worst AI I think I've ever seen. Not only do they not act like humans, most of the time they just do outright stupid things. People jumping out in front of my car and getting run over because they were scared I'd hit them? OK, makes sense?
I dunno, I was just expecting so much more. The thing is when all that rubbish isn't prominant the game is beautiful and you really do get lost in the world. But, at the moment, I'd strongly wait for either a lot of patches and/or a discount. Really sad.
Extraordinary game.
Strong story, great gameplay, beautiful graphics and music.
And above all the city that just sucks you in.
(I myself had almost no bugs, btw)
First off, all of you whiny babies need to shut your traps, enough is enough. It's getting old seeing almost everyone trolling and recycling the same buggy images/videos to mock CD Projekt RED's newest release. You lots asked for no more delay and release early, this is what you get, don't complain. Now demanding a refund for a game just released for a couple of days, fine. Don't come flapping your flaccid wrinkle penis across every Cyberpunk 2077 communities yell at everyone "refund this shit unplayable game, I will buy it 1 year later at a discounted price." You don't like it, refund it, not my business but to trash a developer after preordered and refunded and claim going buy at a discounted price at later date is just a low degenerate move.
Now that ugly business is out of the way, below is my review of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4, as of writing I'm on 1st playthrough 91.55 hours in and enjoying every aspect.
Admittedly, there are bugs and glitches, quite a lot in fact, but nothing renders the game unplayable at all as many internet trolls claim to be.
By now I probably have seen over 50+ PS4 blue screen crash reports, maybe it's me being resilient, maybe it's the fact Cyberpunk 2077 is at the scale no other game has seen before and it is quite a hardware demanding game. Nevertheless, the game is not unplayable, I repeat, It is not unplayable at all.
I am not a hardcore gamer, but over the years of gaming experiences I've played more than a handful of great titles that are story-driven, and trust me, Cyberpunk 2077 has a pretty decent immersive storyline. I enjoy every moment I play this game and that's why taking over 90+ hours and still haven't finished the main storyline. It ain't like some fake ass reviewers said it takes 20 hours to finished, I bet they used the game's feature "skip by dialogue" to speedrun the game. How pathetic.
Anyway, the game does need improvements and I am willing to give the developer time to do so.
Loved it, will probably replay it several times. Worked out perfectly well for my 1070. Ofc it had some bugs, but nothing gamebreaking, even though I had to reload sometimes. But the insane storytelling makes up for it!
