Still not a game that I enjoy
I played this game first in 2022 when the biggest issues this game once had were fixed. With 2.2 comes another major update even 4 years after its initial release. I really appreciate the ongoing effort of CDPR to make this game enjoyable. Unfortunately its still a technical mess and overall not a really good game for me personally. I started a new playthrough in 2025 and still faced major bugs within the first few minutes (clipping out of bounds, teleporting in the air, NPCs falling through the ground, vehicles fullstop crashing with micro objects,...). I can accept that somehow in a game of this size. But still this is a big disappointment when you think about all the patches and fixes this game went through. My major issue is the game itself and how I personally enjoyed it. The Story is very lackluster and not even interesting at all. The setting is great and there is so much potential that could have been used (think about awesome movies like Bladerunner or Akira). You get a classic "Ubisoft" open world with a lot of icons that you process through with tons of unnecessary loot and repetitive tasks. Moving around from point A to B in this beautiful world is an absolute nightmare due to horrible driving physics and cringe NPC behaviour. Personally I had a very hard time to identify with "V". He/She is a very flat character that has no interesting background story and does not behave like someone in his role. He/She kills hundrets of people and is raised in a harsh world but acts like someone really unsecure and weak. The romances must have been written by someone who never touched another woman/man in his/her live. I cannot count how often I died of cringe because of the dialogue options. I would really love to have meaningful options here but "V" is always acting like someone I could never identify with. Could have been a really good game but did not work for me personally at all...
