Still not fixed...............
I got this game because of the anime hype. The game would probably be a 4.5/5 if the bugs were fixed. But to this day, its a buggy mess. I cant believe it. People T pose, cars vanish into the ground. I expected a smooth experience after 1 year. yet it still isnt fixed.

I agree with the low ratings.
I tried to play this game 3 times, and I just didn't find it fun. There were a few enjoyable moments and interactions, but most of the time was spent just going from location A to location B with no real or interesting interaction in the entire "city". It was like the city was empty. Lots of "eye candy", but no content.

Disappointing mess
Nothing like starting to have fun with the game (particularly against a Cyberpsycho that moves pretty much like Motoko Kusanagi, optical camouflage included), and have the game crash in such a way I have to reboot the PC. It's rough around the edges. Even after more than a year of tuning still suffers from considerable poor optimization, constant pop-in of everything (from pedestrians to signs), people sitting in the air, and well, at this point we've have all seen the videos. The vehicle music is forgettable at best, annoying at worst, despite having an actual good non-diegetic soundtrack from Marcin Przybyłowicz. It sucks to see that it could've been a great game, but the development was seriously damaged by the executives and producers. That's what annoys me more, that it has moments of actual fun, that get mudded by sudden crashes or technical glitches. What a disappointment from what was one of my favorite studios.

Adjust your expectations
Judging by other reviews this game should have been a disappointment. But it is not. Of course, a lot of it is a fair criticism. The game does have some issues: performance is bad, moment to moment gameplay and shooter / melee mechanics feel quite clunky. But the story is good. Some of the side content is fantastic, and the endings? They have actually nailed them. A rare huge story focused game ends as well as this one. It is quite short if you only go the main story path, but let's be real: if you buy a game like that, you should expect side content to be as much of a main dish as the main story path, right? Do keep in mind that you need a monster of a pc to run this at decent graphics settings, and even then expect to encounter occasional glitch or crash. Gameplay is nothing to write home about. It gets the job done, it's somewhat competent but don't expect any revelations or surprises there: what you see is what you get. Melee is especially unsatisfying, because c'mon. It's a first person game, of course it won't be satisfying. The rest is just clunky. Not the end of the world, but if the only thing you care about is moment to moment gameplay, you might be disappointed. All in all? Could have been better, but it is absolutely worth your time if you like a good story and some open world content and don't mind a glitch or two.

Expecting so much more because CDPR
The hacking was fun for the first 10-15 hours. But the game hits a wall about 20 hours in. Pros: * Beautiful world. Nice graphics Cons: * Music is terrible * Voice acting is annoying (especially the enemies who constantly scream) * Missions are uninteresting * None of the characters matter * Driving is a joke. The cars handle like a bobsled * No combat while driving * Lots of small items missing. Like changing the radio station, you can't see what channel you're on, and there's no radio dial or description of the music. Not that it matters, every radio channel is terrible. I plan to retire this game permanently after investing 25 hours into it. I can confidently say I have experienced what it has to offer and it's not for me.
