The biggest issue with this game is that the majority of consumers bought into the hype without a smidgen critical thought. I'm sorry but buying into triple A hype has been folly for more than a decade. Thinking that CDPR is going to be different from any other triple A game dev company is just plain funny.
That being said, this is still an enjoyable game but it has its flaws. General PC performance isn't great. Don't expect a butterfly effect RPG narrative. This is very much a directed story with some player choice on side scenarios. The looter-shooter mechanics are not great and, honestly, should've been cut during pre-production. The perk/feat/equipment system is poorly designed and does not create any meaningful choices on your specialization. So don't expect an immense customization from your character to vehicles. Generally, this game suffers from design bloat and ideas that are never executed meaningfully.
The things I enjoyed about this game are the music, the gun play/melee/hacking, the writing/story/characters, and the world to explore. I did indeed play this game till completion and I enjoyed it overall.
It's a shame that Cyberpunk 2077 got heavily skewed by management and marketing like it did but I say it's definitely worth picking up and trying out when it's on sale.
...after more than a year additonal cooking time.
Thought to my self: "Patch 1.5? Surely they fixed most of the issues, it's time to buy it now." Impression after playing for a few hours:
-Headless abominations with their limbs floating around, derping through the city and in cutscenes. Granted, it cracks me up because of how funny it looks but it really breaks the immersion.
-Tutorial breaks when actions suddenly stop working. (fixed it by spamming keys like a madman)
-Worst of all: Got stuck in 'Game can't be saved right now.' bug. The game even stopped autosaving at this point. I'm simply not willing to lose hours of my life because of that.
From what i saw it easily gets 5 stars, as soon as i'm able to play to the end without fearing every second that my progress figuratively explodes under my feet.
