1.x was great, 2.x is just ok

I played CP2077 3 times: first 2 months after release (1.0-1.2), some time later (1.5) and after 2.0 was released (2.0-2.1). In terms of bugs 1.0 was mostly bug-free for me. 99% of bugs were levitating guns and flat-tire cars. Since 1.2 I encountered almost no bugs. In 1.5 not even one. But 2.0-2.1 was a bug festival. For the 1st (and 2nd, 3rd...) time my V was killed because of a (recurring) bug. For me 2.x was (and still is) much more buggy than any 1.x version I played, including day 1 version. Visually this game is a masterpiece. I don't mean technical aspects (textures, resolution etc.) but design. I wish there were more weapon designs, not reskins. As for music, it's so good I often listen to the OST at work. Yes, even the unfamous boxing theme. Gameplay-wise I love 1.x and many changes introduced in 2.0 just killed CP2077 for me. E.g. whenever I leveled up in 1.x I couldn't decide between 2-3 perks I wanted immediately. In 2.x I have unspent points because there's nothing of interest for me. 1.x perks were mostly passive (RPG-like), whereas 2.0 perks are mostly active (action-like) which just isn't for me. I treat CP2077 as an RPG, roleplay my V and choose perks according to my roleplay choices. 2.x has lost many RPG aspects IMO and is just a shooter/action game where perks have no relation to the character. I also don't like forcing players to link weapon choices with class choices. Another poor choice introduced in 2.0 was level-scalling. It never makes sense, regardless of how much I suspend my disbelief. I could go on and on with how auto-fixer was better in 1.x or how police was better (yes, it was, now it's a joke) but I can't put a longer review here. The one thing 1.x and 2.x (including PL) have in common and I despise are endings. V just has to give up his life, make a sacrifice, say farewell and not even try to survive. Otherwise he's despised by his so-called friends. (In some of my playthroughs) it just doesn't make sense. Guilt trip FTW!

Good game if you like this type

The game has extremely impressive graphics, and looks amazing if you have a computer able to run it at high settings. The game will work on weaker systems but you won't see the graphics in the way developers designed them...but the look of the game doesn't affect game-play. I have not encountered any bugs or problems running the game. In my opinion this game is designed for people who enjoy crime/drugs and unnecessary violence just for violence's sake. They would enjoy doing things (in-game) like jumping into a vehicle and speeding down streets/roads and running people over just to see body parts flying off...same with fighting in-game: blasting legs/arms off of NPC's just for laughs. The story, quality of writing of dialog, etc. are not important to the players who want a game where they can see nudity and blow things up and shoot parts off of bodies...if you're that type of person then you will like this game and I recommend buying it. I did not enjoy the constant gang violence, drug/alcohol abuse, and the game's attempt to glorify such a life-style, hence my 3-star rating.
