《赛博朋克 2077》

Even with the 2.0 update almost a full three years after release the game is still full of bugs like ripperdocs or shop vendors suddenly becoming non-interactible after a conversation for no apparent reason or NPC AI just messing its pants or weapon comparison comparing pistols to the shotgun instead of the equipped pistol. Driving and movement overall still feel awkward and non-intuitive. And so are the menus, trying to find anything in this game's menus is a chore. Shooting is decent, but still feels inherently a little janky. This is the Fallout 4 school of shooters. Loot has thankfully been toned down, but still feels like a little too much trashloot is being presented instead of just cash rewards. The overhauled armor mechanic helps a lot to reduce that inventory clutter and thank God for that. The game is carried by its visuals, mood and storytelling. Except the storytelling makes no sense for an open world game. The whole point is that you want to explore this new and interesting world and generally go at your own pace, yet the game constantly hounds you with this need to hurry on for plot reasons. It really shows that the devs didn't really know what they were doing and just slapped together as many different things as they could in hopes of enough stuff sticking to make this game worthwhile. A masterful example of the game director not doing their job. I bought this game 2 years after release, then decided to wait almost another year for the promised update after my initial trial-run, because the game was still too half-baked at that point. So, I went in with fairly low expectations and I still feel disappointed. Buy this if you have nothing better to play, I'm sure you'll be able to kill a lot of time with this, even have a bit of fun, but don't expect this to be the promised next banger. This is yet another middling open world AAA timewaster with a very pretty coat of paint.

Cant even load up into the damn game since 2.1 started. None of the so called fixes ppl recommend actaully freaking work. Like wtf is this.

It took them quite a while to get there but they delivered and that’s what matters. The game is second the none in Story. Mechanics. Graphics and they all mesh nicely. The game has massive replay value. It feel almost completely unique from any other game out there.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game, not a great game, but good. And that's with factoring in all the bugs. The story exists and stands on its own but falls short of being memorable or thought provoking. It's just a story, and that's okay. PC controls are horrible, most keys are not remappable and finding them comes down to assuming that "j" is for journal and "i" will open up your inventory. Then there's the mouse acceleration that you can't turn off. The RPG abilities are mediocre and play more like skill flavoring than anything very playstyle defining. The decision to make equipment looter/shooter was an interesting choice. It's much less like Division 2 and much more like Borderlands 1 + weapon mods that do not clearly state what they can be used on and don't heavily impact the weapon performance. Crafting is useless. Driving is a core mechanic of the game and is the weakest part of its mechanics. Use a controller to drive if you have the choice. Too many bugs to list, I'd take away a star and a half if I could. You could almost believe this was a Bethesda launch. The stars here are the characters, voice acting, and the vibrancy of Night City. CP2077 doesnt play like a game that has been 8 years in development.

I'm not going to go over every issue I came across. Plenty of other reviews will point out the same things. I'm sure after some patching this game will be much better, but having pre-ordered it, and where it currently is, I'm not feeling great about this purchase. I'm sure that in a year it will probably be awesome... and at a discount. For now I'm just going to uninstall it, let it sit in my library, and come back to it someday. I hope I'll have fun with it, but for now it'll serve as another reminder to stop pre-ordering AAA titles. Mega64 was right; I should have waited for the "play date".
