I don't know what game some people play rn, but it is not the Cyberpunk with the features sold to us.
It's no rpg... it's a OKish actiongame at max with a Story on rails and hack'n slash elements.
It feels like 90% content got cut out, they should have just delayed the game to 2021 Q4 to deliver a next gen rpg, but this is just a mess.
Cyberpunk 2077 was marketed as an RPG that would revolutionize the industry and make this game a template for future AAA RPGs.
*Im not going to mention the amount of bugs in this game since eveyone will know about them at this point.
We were promised an RPG with a immersive, living city (Night City), with incredible AI for NPCs, character customization, emotional impactful branching storylines, etc. This is not what we got. With past games such as Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, and GTA 5, this game lacks ALOT of essential RPG elements for a player to get immersed in.
Night City is beautiful! Especially on a high-end pc with Ray tracing turned ON. Unfortunetly, all of this is artificial. No activities for your character to do. No interaction with the world. You have your standard main Storyline, side quests, contracts, and faction missions. That's it.
CDPR needs to address the missing features that were promised with this game and apoligize to gamers. Hopefully, all these features will be added in future patches or updates.
One can only hope...
TL;DR: The game is not finished, this is not a proper release, this is not playable if you ignore a thing or two.
Let's face it: Cyberpunk 2077 is in no way a finished product.
What most people are calling "bugs" is a blatant excuse for bad/lack of proper programming.
The game does not lack polishing or a tweak or two, but full development.
From AI to RPG systems to Open World mechanics, everything seems to be hanging by a thread. There is not a base structure that wraps this game up in a cohesive and enjoyable experience. There is no "Night City". Everything just seems afloat - figuratively and literally, as you've probably seen the flying cars and disappearing pedestrians.
Of course there is an interesting story deep down this mountain of disappointment, it is just not accessible in the current state. I even tried to follow the legions of CDPR blind paladins who dive into this mess and tell everyone "It's an awesome game. You just have to ignore the...". NO. Please, NO. This is not what was promoted, not what was sold.
Speaking about sold, CDPR pulled an even bigger heist on current gen console players. What a shame.
Maybe when the PS5 version is out next year, the game will be in a proper developmental state. The way it is now, totally frustrating.
- The game AI is completely and utterly broken, cdpr said they're going to fix it but right now the game is downright unplayable, feels like garbage
- Police spawning out of nowhere, ruins a lot of moments and sidequests where you get surrounded in the most bizarre way, taking the fun and imersion out of the game
- CDPR exaggerated so freaking much about how "vertical" the city would really be, my bet is that they cut out a lot of the game to sell it with the expansions :^)
- There's barely any minigame (e.g card games, distractions and diversions) in the city, again, they said it would be a very livid and vertical city, not me
- Barely any customization, there's not a single barbershop in the game lmao
- Want to ride flying cars? nah nah :)
- You cannot customize your own cars
- Can't buy new houses/bases/you name it, again, I believe we'll see this in a future expansion
- No destructible cenario, it's just laughable considering how much they hyped this game, marketed as the truly next gen experience
- Textures are B A D, like really bad, some ps3 type of stuff you'll see in the game (e.g look at npcs eating hamburguers or hot-dogs)
- Skill tree is lazy and lackluster, few and scarce unlocks, most of the stuff is something like a percentage buff in a skill
- The game world feels empty and artificial, the pacing of the main story feels like a linear game but they forgot you stop and do side quests a lot
- Tons of stuff in the original marketing trailers that are simply not in the game (DLC, perhaps? :p)
Summing up, i've seen some people (fanboys) doing the rather typical damage control telling we should've managed our expectations, but that's not even the case here. CDPR straight out lied AND manipulated the trailers and how the marketing campaign went so the game would have a feeling/vibe that the retail product clearly doesn't have.
I cannot stress how much this game is a disappointment, wait for fixes/game of the year edition with all the expansions.
Played this game for over 40 hours on PC.
It's got so many problems. So many bugs, horrible NPC AI, so much content was cut that was shown or talked about in the past by CD Projekt Red.
This game is unfinished. It is basically Triple A Early Access.
It's a good game. It's fun and I like playing it but it's honestly such a huge disappointment.
If you decide to buy this then expect a lot of bugs, at least on par with your regular Bethesda game.
But honestly, I'd recommend you wait half a year from now, maybe even a whole year until this game is actually finished and they fixed most of the bugs.
