Problematic then and now

Conceptually this game wasn't all there when first released and at times it beggers belief why some ideas went all in (such as the dumb Eco Warriors) and other ideas never really left the working but naff stage (Public Works). As 4X games go it's initial appeal quickly sags into a little bit of repetativeness that even war couldn't liven up. What's worse is the current version, for whatever reason, has sluggish mouse control that's more sluggish than the bastard offspring of a slug and mouse that's trying to operate a cheap analogue mouse with lots of pet hair jammed into it.

Decent Civ game with nice future era

Got this game many years ago as a birthday gift and was instantly hooked. It is not better compared to Civ III, but different. Especially the fact the Civ games end in the current era, but this game extends into the future. I really liked this feature and it made the game so much more fun. For example the possibility to build cities on the seabed adds a new depth to the game. The UI is not that great, and the soundtrack is dull. But all in all a nice game that deserves a chance, especially with the big fan project some other reviews mention. It vastly improves certain aspects of the game, for example unit upgrades.

A really nice surprise!

I know this game from my childhood and decided to buy it just for the sake of nostalgia. However, it turned out that: a) the graphics are really nice on my 1080p display (I believe folks at GOG have done some fine-tuning to make it happen, it’s a game from the year 2000!) b) the game itself is absolutely decent and works flawlessly on Win10. All in all, perfectly happy with my purchase. Thanks for bringing CTP2 back to life!

Unplayable

I loved this game when it came out, I loved it a couple of years ago playing it on GOG. I wanted to love playing it again, but it is essentially unplayable. I assume something that has updated in win10 has made the difference as it used to work, but there is input lag and sluggish respose when attempting to use the mouse to do anything (which is pretty much essential. It's fine on the menus, but once in the game there is no way anyone could play this and enjoy it, which is a shame.

One of my Favorite Games, Never bored!

I love this, in fact I purchased the CD off Amazon a while back, but I cannot find it currently, so Purchased on GOG.com I have noticed it has a heavy issue with movement and graphics for the video clips in windows 10 but otherwise its still the perfect game i recall! If anyone knows how or what way to fix those 2 issues please let me know some how!
