The game plays well and is very tightly controlled and designed.
Brigador trademark provides a diverse and original array of vehicles and weaponry to complete your missions, it's beautiful and the sound track and sound effects are top notch.
The Deluxe edition is well worth getting especially with regards to the audiobook that expands and and explores the surprisingly deep world of the game.
First off, thanks a lot of the Christmas gift! :)
TL;DR Fun game with a one annoying flaw: the aiming, and the aiming is quite important.
I'm digging this game. It 's fun! However it has a problem and it feels overlooked and sloppy when the rest of the game is so good. The aiming is poorly implemented and it lowers the games otherwise great quality, IMO of course. I have worked with design professionally so these things always stick out to me. Most people will overlook it and think that there is nothing to improve when in fact there are simple solutions that would make something good even better.
The problem:
The reticle on the ground is too small or too dark during the chaos and you need it for example when shooting arced weapons that drop down on enemies. The main aiming lines (blue and red) also have an issue because they do not show on the objects you aim at so you miss often because it looks like you aim at something when you actually aren't. I mounted 2 high arc weapons on a mech and i couldn't see where i was shooting once the action started because the reticle in the ground is so hard to see and you can't rely on the aiming lines with arcs. Not sure how this was overlooked but it is really annoying when the game is so good otherwise.
Solutions:
-A brighter crosshair on the ground. For example a bright "+" reticle that is more visible would be great.
-The blue and red aiming lines should show on objects they interact with much like a laser pointer does.
I like blowin' stuff up. This game gives you a bit of catharsis at times, really good to just chill and play with. The corporate humor is also excellent.
