Soothing Roleplaying
You happen to be examining one of the still locked rooms of the Hush House, one warded against intrusion when the fog rolls in. You realize it would be a perfect day to unlock it. So you scroll and scroll over the bridge to the parish house and chat up the Rector, handing him a shilling as a "contribution" and he agrees to help. As you scroll back over the bridge, you discuss the fog. He agrees that it creates a most memorable atmosphere. Once inside, you give him a cup of tea (with just a dash of serpent's milk), and begin to discuss the finer points of what you need done. He readily agrees, and on a day like today, with that tea and your discussion, he's perfectly situated to open up that tower for you. While he does that, you scroll over to the reading room you'd set up. See, you have just recently learned a lesson in personal Exaltation, but you haven't mastered it. But there are a few other books you can reference to perfect your understanding. You can find two, but where did you leave the third? Ah yes, you read it last night. Before you go, you talk to your pet snake. He'll put you in the mood. With all of that in place, you settle in to reread your books and perfect your mastery. Once you're finished, the Rector lets you know he's finished, and you hurry over to check out the new room. There are new books, and this one in a language you don't know. Fortunately, with events of the world as they are, someone will be along shortly who can teach it to you. It's hard to explain this game unless you've played it. It's a frustrating game of discovery and occult lore, a "chill Cultist Simulator." If you like the occult, drinking tea, and playing with cards while reading weird lore, this is the game for you.
