BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut Ultimate Update

Enhanced and updated for modern systems by the game's original developers, this is the definitive edition of BloodRayne 2.
BloodRayne is a dhampir, born from the unnatural union of vampire and human. Blessed with the powers of a vampire but cursed with the unquenchable thirst for blood and a weakness to sunlight, Rayne is challenged with her most personal battle yet as she hunts down her siblings. They have banded together and pledged to carry on their father's legacy of creating a new era of vampire supremacy where humans are mere cattle.
With new acrobatic movements and rail sliding, fast-paced blade and gun combat, fatal finishing moves, more dhampir powers like time control, and an extensive combo system, BloodRayne 2 is a brutally satisfying continuation of the iconic series.
Features and enhancements of the Terminal Cut edition, created by the game’s original development team:
Support for higher display resolutions (up to 4K / 3840x2160).
Upscaled cinematic videos
Support for modern gamepads (XInput)
Improved rendering with up to 4x anti-aliasing
Improved lighting with higher resolution light maps
Support for higher texture resolutions, allowing for use of uncompressed original textures
Back in the day this game was a fun ride and now that it works properly at 16:9 it still is, could use a brightness option, some of the levels are a bit too dark, and adjusting the monitor for one game, nah. But all in all its still a fun ride, the ragdoll physics are a bit dated but still fun, and Rayne still looks great but the npc's look kind of clunky but they're being cut up so it doesn't really matter. The down side the game, it never got its ending. it ends like the Deathly Hallows part 1, or Empire Strikes Back. The publisher at the time, Majesco, decided to drop console and PC games and focus on handheld games, I think it was during the recession and PC game ales were in the toilet. So we never got a proper Bloodrayne 3. Think there's one or two scrollers but they're just Castlevanie rip off's, Bloodrayne 1 and 2 were creative games at the time, sorta, I guess.
This game is amazing, I got it together with bloodrayne1.
When I first started it, there was an error, which was quickly resolved by deinstalling (+reboot) and reinstalling the 2015 Visual C++ Runtime libraries (+reboot). I needed to install both packages, 32bit and 64bit, here is the link from GOG that helped me:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004465889-Missing-DLL-files-mfc140u-dll-msvcp140-dll-mfc110u-dll-msvcp110-dll-mfc100u-dll-msvcp100-dll-mfc90u-dll-msvcp90-dll-mfc80u-dll-msvcp80-dll-and-similar
After that, both bloodrayne1 and bloodrayne2 ran perfectly on my win10 system.
And what a game that is, cool story, sexy hero, non stop action, super captivating and beautiful visuals. Highly recommended!
Also I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn, but got bored quickly. Well, nothing compares to bloodrayne :D
Thank you Ziggurat for updating Bloodrayne 1 and 2 to be able to work on modern systems. I love this series and can finally play without any problems. Here's hoping we get Bloodrayne 3 <3
Balance is missed in this game; some sections are too easy but others are too difficult. Mechanics of fights are not working and it is almost impossible to properly handle fights with 2-3 opponents. I hoped remaster somehow fixes this situation and it didn't.
The update does make the game look better, but the game mechanics are janky and not that fun when using a mouse and keyboard. Still If you like Vampire games you could do worse...
