Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

I was looking for this game for a long time. I used to play it in my old computer, but my media was lost and since then I couldn't find it anywhere. This game is the first one in the Blood Omen and Legacy of Kain series, and it is my favorite one. The ambient is amazing, story is great, a fantastic game! You may buy it without worries, this is an incredible vampire game!

Having played most of the series, Blood Omen 1 stood out among the others. I love the top-down style, almost like Zelda but more bloody. Sure, you can break the game if you know what items to get and how to use them, but it adds to the charm. If you think it looks like it could be good, then you will likely be surprised at how it exceeds expectations. Haven't played this port yet, but by all accounts they did a great job.

I can't speak to the Windows version (yet) but I instantly purchased this upon realising it was for sale! An absolute childhood favourite and I had to rant about how excited I am to play it again after (foolishly) part exchanging my PS1 copy as a child! Loved it! Great writing and voice acting, weird and wonderful plot, atmospheric and gory! So stoked for this trip down memory lane! Absolutely, still, one of my best memories of gaming! I love the Soul Reaver series, but nothing has been as satisfying as this for me!

Saw one review of the game being unplayable. Not sure what the reason would be. I have a computer less than a year old and the game is running perfectly. Better yet, it now detects Xbox 360 controllers so you can plug one into your PC and play it the same way you wanted on consoles. Greatly enjoying my re-visit.

Buckle yourself in and enjoy this classical tale of a man turned into a vampire against his will. He embarks on a journey of revenge only to be drawn deeper into a plot that sees him topple the established order and on quest to do the impossible, change the fate of the whole world! If you have never played a Legacy of Kain game, I suggest starting here. My first LoK experience was Soul Reaver back in the day, but when I went back to play Blood Omen, I had a good time. This game has always moved a bit sluggish, but the DIALOGUE and the SCRIPT are down right Shakespearean in depth. You find yourself immersed several games into this franchise pondering the deeper questions of morality, philosophy, and multiverse theory.
