I loved the first installment. This second episode introduces some interesting gameplay changes, and while I enjoyed extending my time in this universe, it didn’t quite capture me the way the original did.
That said, it’s still an excellent game and worth every cent. I simply recommend playing the first one before picking this up—and if you only plan to play one, go for the original.
Blasphemous 2 takes the things I enjoyed from the original game, and improved upon it in other ways. World exploration feels more open ended this time. I don't remember how easy it was to fast travel, but this time around the ability to travel from location to location expands the more you progress - this makes returning to old areas that were once unable to be explored with new ablities that allows your character to explore those areas much more convenient.
There are so many side expansions compared to the original game, such as statues that provide passive boosts, new weapons, and what feels like a larger map.
Great game.
