This is by far my favorite game ever made. i have played it ten plus times over the years and this pc version looks incredible. This remaster really does the game justice
It's been a long time since I played the first Bioshock, and wasn't that excited to play this at first. But I got swept right into it again and just like that I beat it in 12 hours on Hard. What I love about Bioshock is the die and spawn mechanic. You jump right back into the game, this allows you to keep up the flow and rhythm than waiting for a load screen like in most games.
The gunplay is addicting as hell, the shotgun and crossbow are my favorites, and electric and cyclone are the most fun plasmids to use on your enemies. Telekinesis is great and actually useful for getting items from spaces you can;t reach or making more conveniant ways of obtaining an item.
The world despite being so dark, creepy, and underwater, is very alive and full of great experiences.
I highly recommend replaying this great game especially the remaster, I don;t see why people did not like the remaster, I'm not informed if it was messed up on launch or what. But it runs great as of now.
If you are unfamiliar with the whole BioShock series - this one will blow you away. This remastered edition will take you through the adventures of Rapture City and all its glory. As you progress, take your time to notice the aesthetics, the sounds and beauty.
Didnt play remaster yet..but i completed the original a few times so..
+ possibly best setting in a game ever
+ nice mix of horror and sci fi
+ memorable characters
+ best intro in any fps game and best twist in any game ever
+ looks unique and beautiful
- gunplay could have been a little better
- last boss feels completely out of place
Overall 9/10 one of the most memorable games ever
Not only is the Remastered version prone to crashing, but Classic has been crashing to desktop mid-level on me sometimes even only a few minutes after reloading.
Besides that, Bioshock has been merely "fine" as an FPS with excellent environments hampered by questionable design decisions like the Vita Chambers providing infinite respawns allowing one to trivialize all combat.
