Brutally overrated, feels artifficial
I've played the original game, not the remaster, but the game is the same and the original still looks good so I don't think it makes much difference. I'm probably the only person on this planet who doesn't feel much about it. I don't exactly hate it, it just doesn't gel with me at all. Everything feels way too contrived - the story, the characters, the mechanics. It's just way too game-y, in your face. There's no subtlety. It's all "look how cool this is" and "you should feel so and so". Just how many people feel about David Cage's games, I feel about Bioshock. Seriously why should I care about the little sisters again? Why is everyone so crazy and has always been? How did the build this whole bloody thing and how is it still holding together with all those leaks? Isn't that plane crash just a bit too convenient? I just couldn't suspend my disbelief for a second since the very first moments. My biggest gripe is - yea, that "would you kindly" thing. Every time the player character did something such as injecting himself with that magic goo, I got pi**ed. I kept playing for a while because of that plot twist I was expecting (I didn't have it spoiled at the time) but eventually I gave up - the game kept annoying me so much I just stopped and looked up the rest of the story. Yea I guess it makes sense in hindsight but that doesn't make everything any less annoying for me. Well, that's just my opinion man. It's a game; I'm not a fan but for for all the people who are, no worries, everything is cool. By the way I did mostly like Bioshock Infinite. Ironically I'd love B1 and BIinf to have their settings reversed - I got into Infinite especially when Columbia got trashed, while I really enjoyed the Burial at Sea DLC with Rapture intact.
