Join the Rebellion as action reporter Jade, join an underground resistance group and expose your government's secrets using stealth, force and wits. Stop at nothing until your people know the truth. Expose the Conspiracy. Enter a futuristic world full of deception, where nothing is as it seems and exposing the truth is the only hope of restoring freedom.
Beyond Good and Evil is a really great game, but it suffers from terrible camera angles and lack of widescreen support. When it comes to gameplay, it's surprisingly similar to Metal Gear Solid.
This game is great, except that it doesn't work with a control pad by default. You need to write you own script or use a seperate gamepad emulator in order to have it work with a game pad.
Software like Glovepie and AutoHotkey can work well to solve the problem, but the game really should come with gamepad support. (Or gog.com should create the necessary gamepad emulator. If I can do it, they're crew should have no problems writing one.)
This game is one hell of a game, I will give it that BUT be warned that the PC version is buggy as hell, if you are going to buy this game dig up a PS2 copy because its by far superior than the PC one
Your planet is under attack by an alien armada. The government may be collaborating with the invaders.
Can you expose the truth?
Michel Ansel, the French creator of the Rayman series, takes this concept and runs with it to produce a truly stunning and sadly overlooked game. Cinematic from the very beginning, Beyond Good and Evil fuses the stealth action of Metal Gear Solid with the adventurous feel of The Legend of Zelda to produce a game that manages to make you laugh, cry, and cheer.
The worst that can be said about the game is that it ends too soon, and leaves you on a cliffhanger that begs a sequel. Though since there is one in development, you really have no good reason not to buy this game.
I can make no stronger purchase recommendation than I do here. Buy this game. You won't regret it.
Definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played, it brought back the joy and creativity that games can exhibit, great characters, great story line, the only drawback is that it ends too soon. One of the games that makes GoG great for updating it and making it stand the test of time for future generations.
