There are a lot of good ideas in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, and it certainly looks like a great tactical space combat game. But it struggles to build that into a coherent whole, making it tough to recommend unless you’re willing to utterly dedicate yourself to fully comprehending the inaccessible systems of its combat.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is a beautiful game that’s flawed but brilliant. Occasionally obtuse but always entertaining, it’s a wonderfully unique way to experience the Warhammer 40k universe.

Still fun and great to play in 2025
I played this game again because of nostalgia and I still enjoyed it so much. Great ships battle and the warhammer lore are so vividely represented in this game. A timeless classic!

Maybe it is somewhat outdated. ¡But this game is really fun to play! A cheap game, for good hours of fun. Highly recommended.

How is this not 4.5 stars???
Normally I'd leave lengthy reviews, it doesn't even need one--just buy it. $15 full price at retail is a scam--in our favor. This easily is a $30-40 game. I wish I got it on GOG instead of steam, but at $2.24 on sale I might buy it again for this platform anyway. Think realtime XCOM but with space ships, sorta like that. Support Tindalos, they're one of the last good Westerm studios producing high quality content that aren't greedy. This game was simply fantastic, I bought BFGA 2 immediately.
