Game of the Century!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I am still annoyed at the neverending Early-money-Access, but bad business practices aside, what an *absolute* blast!! Best 116 hours of my life! I would have to put so many spoilers here to explain why this is heaven for old fans of the BG series, but even not mentioning any of that, the incredible combination of music, memorable fights, great acting (voices and body), Faerun setting, well written companions and story, and so on makes this game my no.1 of all time (cannot believe BG2 became third in just a couple of years). Immersion is definitely one of the game's strengths, and if you are the kind of hero that loves bonding with your companions, well, this is for you. For people who are familiar with the Divinity series, and are not into its tendency to be a parody of the RPG genre, I would still recommend to give this a try, the divinityzation has been kept within reason and this is NOT DOS3 as many say. For the old BG fans, I will just say that the moment you hear familiar punchlines, accents and even enemy battlecries gave me the goosebumps... Have not done an evil playthrough yet, but I hope it will deliver as it seems to be promised. The huge amount of fun and tears can even make you forget those small slips, like conversations not updating properly, enemies taking ages for their turn (Boo even complains about it).. that said, the game has not crushed a single time, even on my struggling laptop.

The new gold standard for CRPGs

6*/5* If you fundamentally like CRPGs, this game is an unquestionable must-have in your library; its simply not anything less. It's the kind of game where after 1h you already solidly planned your second playthrough.

Snore, snore, snore

I played a Dark Urge Barbarian and couldn't immediately kill the guy with a knife to my throat after the intro. Lame writing, stupid scenario, performance issues, bloated installer - it's like Larian did everything they could wrong. Oh, except pay off Geoff Keighley! GOTY 2023! LMFAO The only thing that went right was my friend letting me use his GoG installer to try it out before I blindly purchased for bandwagoning reasons. I'll stick with the older NWN and IE games, I guess.

WILL UPATE AFTER I FINISH MY PLAYTHROUGH

Hey guys, CRPGS and RPG lovers, honestly, after 100 hours in the game; Just acknowledge the fact that this is the most quality driven CRPG we have had since.... I safely say this is the most quality driven CRPG of all times. So stop the nitpicking and gatekeeping, support the initiative. We all have our prefrences regarding characters and story, but honestly, Im blown away by such a luxury product. So far it has the potential to be at the tippy top of the list, I already feel the end is going to leave a void within me, but we will see.

Many bugs/glitches and subversion

It's not a terrible game if you can get passed the LGBTQ+ pandering/propaganda and over-sexualization, (Which is common in media and entertainment nowadays because of the intent to desensitize audiences to degenerative immoral content while pretending that it's not cringe af). The story is passable so far, the dialogue could be better, the companions could be better, the writing in-general could be better or more intelligent and less about social justice that we see in today's world. (Inequality and racism are the primary and 'only' themes that are as common as sexualization or pride virtue signaling, because if we aren't pushing real-world politics into a game, what are we really doing?) But the reason I am shocked it's over-hyped and overrated is the near constant game-breaking bugs. I have too many to list and it keeps growing: Characters getting stuck then warping across the map and ultimately disappearing. NPCs being unable to initiate dialogue with. (I'm looking at Dammon as a great example preventing you from completing a certain companion's questline) Turns in combat where the round starts for that character with their action point already spent. (Has happened to me so far at least 5 times) Abilities not firing off yet still consuming your action point. Attempting to move in-combat but being completely stuck, yet it still consumes the entire movement bar. (Specifically while not being snared or rooted) NPCs disappearing completely and reappearing after a save game reload. Physics engine wonkiness after after killing an enemy sometimes reaching Bethesda hilarity. Sometimes healing potions don't work, especially when thrown, sometimes they do despite 'missing' Sometimes combat is started for one character despite all companions being grouped up and within a short distance of each other Issues with stat-distribution after re-specializing a character Memory leak issues causing noticeable slow-down the longer the game is played.
