Baldur's Agte 3 has : - superb wriring (story & characters)
- excellent voiceacting
- excellent graphics, well polished (running on the highest settings on my PC with
the bare minimum of the requirements
- All the quality of life one can think of
- No Microtransactions (with their shady psyco/marketing tricks) Shoul be
standard
- No "woke" lecturing/politics (should be standard too)
- No release today, finish later BS like no man's sky, Fallout 76,...
- Last not least it's very immersive, rich and fun to play
All this points are typical for Larian
Some of these points shouldn't be worth mentioning, but the trend in (US) media/games is the opposite of customer friendly and I can't praise studios enough for not following that trend
P.S.: one more good thing: it's on GOG without beeing an old game
Tried on 1065G7 (DX11, vulkan crashed multiple times), low settings.. not super fast but it CAN be played in smaller resolution in window. On GTX1070 on ultra without any trouble. Both on latest drivers.

I have played and replayed bg 1 and 2 multiple times. When i decided to quit nicotine i rented a cabin in the middle of nowhere, had friends drop me off so i physically couldnt go to a store. I brought tons of snacks and my laptop with BG 1 and 2 to keep myself from going crazy. I love those games. After playing a bit of BG3 it felt zero connection or nostalgia to the first 2 games. The storytelling is subpar, the characters are extremely unlikable and, for me, a BG game needs real time with pause. The message i get from larian is "screw the story, screw a bear instead". Perhaps this game would be great on its own merits but for me the association to the 2 first games are to powerful so its impossible for me to enjoy. Ah well, i have only played through icewind dale 2 4 times, its time for another run.
