No good/evil alignment choices! And your character has no voice! This really ruins everything rp related when your character is an emotionless mute. There are no incantations in this game like the original two games. The game really lacks any sort of 'living breathing world' feel. It's too focused on mechanics and dialog trees and 5e machanics suck. So unless you love npcs more than yourself and want to see what weird results you can get this game is not fun at all.
This game is divisive for several reasons:
1- It’s based on the Dungeons & Dragons system and universe, which is itself polarizing within the TTRPG community.
2- It features turn-based party strategy gameplay—not exactly the most mainstream genre.
What’s exceptional: the sheer volume of dialogue and choices available, and the depth of companion development.
What’s disappointing: despite the abundance of choices, their impact on the overall story remains fairly marginal—you’re still either the world’s savior or tyrant. The universe feels generic, lacking nuance, and often falls into cliché good vs. evil tropes.
I enjoyed playing through it once to explore the world, but have no desire to revisit it. I preferred watching a few videos to see how the different endings played out.
One of the best games I've ever played in my entire life. Without hesitation. You might think in playing one hour or two, but when you glance at the clock you realize you've been spending more than 4 hours in this world.
