Play it. And the first one. And the Planescape Torment.
That's it. That's the whole advice and review.
One of best RPGs ever.
And Beamdog fixed lot of their bugs. What else to say?
Never since achieved or even approached.
The AD&D 2nd Edition era in fantasy rpg (before the WotC influence) is just unique.
The classic version has all the nostalgia and the original vibes (and technical issues...).
This version is especially good if you haven't played the original and are new to the genre.
Works like a charm on Linux. There is hardly anything to add as this game is just amazing: graphics doesn't look that bad even by today's standard, controls are quirky but you can get used to these relatively quickly and most important of all this game has a soul: it is atmospheric, it offers a lot to explore and it has a great replay value.
Thanks Beamdog for making an awful, buggier version of the original game. I swear to god I will never pay you for one of your broken products again. Thanks.
When I discovered that there is this enhanced edition, I was afraid that the game would be different so I prefered to stay with the original version. But It's the same as with the first BG (see my review). The enhanced edition allows me to play it on today's computers. As a fan of this saga, I sometimes want to join the great world of mages, thiefs and enjoy the journey across Amn to finish the epic story.
