Personal preference
I didn't find it fun to play, the combat would be better if it was turn based. After working on the computer all week, you just don't want to play this kind of game in your free time, and I'm not talking about the difficult.

You point i punch.
Im relatively new to the rpg scene but already studied the theme. As much as i like the games that brought me to this genre i have to admit that this game was and still is the best rpg . Captivating lore, intricate characters, beautiful soundtrack, amazing and adictive gameplay and all of this will keep you coming for more. The story is as good as d&d can be, the characters interact with you and each other each one with specific personality, the soundtrack is orchestral epic, and the gameplay is rpg with insane atention to detail, This game is the proof that you dont need 4k graphics to make a number 1. Stop making dumb games and come back to the roots. The games of today mostly are sugar coated 3d crap. Thats why nostalgia comes to take a major space because games like this one have body, mind and soul combined with a collosal replayability make something you will never forget.

NIce but not perfect
Very Nice game. But, back in the days, I had access to a very good french version. In the case that the original version is not available anymore, I think it's a lack of respect to not let francophones having access to the version of their childhood. Very bad.

you should search elsewhere...
great game but... since dragon spear there is some features added to baldur's gate 2. its a very strange looking graphics now... its you to judge wether its cool or not. do you remenber when you where controlling your party like a master mind, succeding because of your mind and failing because you have forgoten something. now the game control 83% of your party: the game now is using by himself spell of your companions... meaning that one of the feature you where controling the most is now used and spoilt by the IA and even when u try to remove it (maybe its a bug, meaning that BG 2 EE is now with bad features and buggy...) it come back!! there is a few other stuff that i let you watch from other people who write it... good luck in your journey whoever you are , because its a fine day for whatever you are after!
