Good game
If you liked BG 1 & 2 when they came out you will still enjoy this, unless there is a particular mod you like that for some reason is not compatible with the EEs. Many don't like the EEs for various reasons, but just being able to enjoy the games in recent systems and OSs with QoL features like zoom and quick loot makes it worth it. Sure the UI is not that great, the new portraits and NPCs are subpar, but no game is perfect. It gets a three star from me do to the fact that even if it "works" on Linux, if you have a fairly recent distro you have to do some magic to get them to work. The game (all the EEs) uses some old libraries that newer distros don't package anymore. I expected Beamdog to update libraries with the new Version, but that's obviously not the case.

Best RPG in its time
+ Customization + Story + Characters (even development between them, because when you have them in your group they talk to each other) At least speedrun is still great even in year 2024.

way better than 3
combat fels more fluid to me than 3 with the forced turn based combat I love the story and characters my top 5 game for sure
