The world of Arx is wrought with turmoil, brought to the brink of destruction by a violent war. The sun has disappeared from overhead to shroud the world in eternal darkness forcing communities to begin inhabiting the underground mines. But as food and drink becomes scarce, the wars become even more violent as each race struggles for survival.
You are plugged into this world of terror and must use bravery and cunning to uncover the long hidden secret of Arx. As your epic quest unfolds you will explore ancient temples, bustling cities and abandoned mines, unearth legendary artefacts and face terrifying foes.

Not patched to the 'official' 1.19 patch. Patched to the 'special' G.O.G. 1.19 patch, as this latest patch has not been made available to original owners of this game and therefore cannot be an 'official 1.19 patch' in any way. So if you don't own this game, buy it here for a working copy. If you already own it, then you will hav to play the buggy version until Arkane and/or G.O.G. release this 1.19 patch to the public and make if truly an 'official 1.19 patch'!
This game is starts you off in some ugly place filled with guards, and doesn't seem to allow you to creep about very well or to be able to fight them effectively. I just got tired of this dull and frustrating game very quickly and gave up. Yawn. Back to dungeon keeper 2...
All the reviews I read before buying Arx Fatalis said it was like Morrowind just with worse voice acting, but it is much more than just bad voice acting. The game overall feels dry and boring. Pull out your old Morrowind disk and play it again instead.
