Had promise, broken by scaling requirements.
So, I really enjoyed the base type of game that Alien Nations is and the aesthetics, but the way the game plays is so horribly stressful that I just can't play it anymore. I spent about 4 hours straight trying to do one thing: get my resource income to be reliable and to be greater than my expenses. I gave up when I saw that whenever I would increase my income, the game automatically created a new threshold of dissatisfied citizens which would amount to an increase in expenses every time I increased my income. It was literally a looped program within the game that didn't allow me to gain a foothold of my income so I could start to enjoy my town. Instead, I just fought endlessly with trying to tackle this aspect and I was so frustrated I gave up and never want to play again. I've played multiple city builder type games and have never had this kind of problem. It's just stressful. The fun aspects are unable to be enjoyed, because you never have peace of mind with your finances.
