The story takes place before the events from Alder's Blood and changes the perspective from Chief of the Hunters - to a commoner, named Charles.
Charles, as everyone else in this cruel world, is struggling to stay alive. Daring his luck, out of bravery or desperation - he aims for a quick buck and attempts to hunt the spawns of darkness. If he'll survive - income from reselling the remains of the beasts will secure his livelihood for weeks to come.
What he is not aware of, is how his story will soon unfold and his life... changed forever.
In the world ruled by misery and humanity rotting in shadow of God's dead carcass - death, becomes mercy.
Arts nice. It's short... less than 20min. Thin on tutorial mechanics. Mostly it tries to set the story setting. I think it would've been better if the prologue was longer because it's set the story better. More explanation for how game mechanics (e.g. stealth, stamina) work would've been nice too.
Seems ok. Hard to know if it'll be good or not as a game with how little is presented in the prologue.
Def worth trying out for free. It works... there's just very little meat given.
Okay you bastards, you got me interested here.
The game is great art-wise but you have a long road ahead of you if you want to make it work.
Gameplay is interesting, even somewhat exotic but it requires more nuances to it.
Melee attack doesn't have sound yet, quick safe/load is critically required, the visuals are in dire need of antialiasing, but I think this game has future.
I'm curious regarding the full game. As stated by others, the game mechanics were poorly explained and in some cases not explained at all in this prologue to the full game.
I somewhat hope the character presented here appears in the full game. The description clearly states the main game is from a hunter's perspective while this is from a commoner's perspective, but this prologue is just setting up what looks like a story with him when it ends. Would be nice to see what happens to him after this in the main game.
I can't get past the first step of the tutorial. A white outline of possible move places appears, but whichever I click on, the character moves one space then just stays on the spot in a running animation. Nothing else happens. He never reaches the targeted space. Unless I have just missed something obvious. I tried quitting out, reloading, trying again (different target) - same thing.
Really short (as the description says) but its OK to get a feel for the art-style, animations and basic gameplay.
I am interested so far but have to admit there really isn't much to go by.
