Random crashes, issues with some puzzles
Positive: ✔ Beautiful visuals ✔ Lots of clever puzzles and optional side cases ✔ Very long playtime (12 chapters with 45+ hours if going for full completion) ✔ You can revisit saves/chapters to grab missed collectibles—very convenient To be improved: ✖ At the very beginning, the game suffered from random crashes that made it extremely frustrating to play. It turned out that GOG GALAXY overly was causing the problem; after disabling it, the issue was resolved. (Sharing this in case it helps someone with the same issue.) ✖ Some puzzles feel unpolished and/or buggy. Chapter 5 – Sun Puzzle: Collecting all five artifacts (which must be done in an exact order) prevents retrieving the mustache—very counterintuitive. Mindmap timeline: The dark sketch-style visuals make orientation much harder than necessary. A black-and-white or sepia filter applied to the original layout would be far more functional. Chapter 6 – Rocking Chair: Wouldn’t rock no matter what rhythm I tried; had to use the “E” bypass. Epilogue 2 access bug: If you finish Epilogue 1 and then quit the game, Epilogue 2 no longer appears in Extras/Chapters. Solution: Replay Epilogue 1 from your last save and immediately start Epilogue 2. After doing so, both epilogues will appear in Extras/Chapters. It’s frustrating to replay nearly all of Epilogue 1 just to access Epilogue 2—especially since it’s required to obtain all collectibles. Epilogue 2 evidence board: Very hard on the eyes; the thin red connection lines are barely visible against the patterned background, and there are 52 connections to be made. Verdict: Some puzzles need polishing and a few bugs need fixing, but overall it’s a solid and enjoyable detective game that’s well worth the price.
