Against the Storm is an engrossing and fun game. Its focus is on moment-to-moment settlement management but with a ton of gameplay ideas that make each new expedition feel unique. I love the unpredictable nature of the glades as well as the many ways to interact with the Queen’s requests and the dangerous ruins.

Definitely a fun game
The genre of "rogue-lite city builder" seemed like an oxymoron to me when I first heard it, but this game does a good job of capitolizing on the early stages of a city-builder and then progressing once you get to a point that it would otherwise start getting stale. The way the game forces you to addapt to unique circumstances in each city with the random parts you are able to cobble together into a functioning outpost keeps you needing to think through decisions in tactical and strategic terms each time.

Fresh and new idea
combines the best of the old settlers and northguard and adds something completly new with the building from scratch with random buildings. Really stays fun even after the 20th settlement, 40hours now and its not the end!

Beautiful city builder
Took a little to get used to but i really like unlocking new things for my new cities. Plus the music is so soothing.
