Well Worth It!

My wife and I really enjoyed playing this game. It has a fun art style and nice story for each area you unlock. The characters are fun and memorable. It also has local coop! The gameplay is fun with lots of jumping and climbing. with simple combat mixed in. They reward you for exploring with items to unlock, new hats, cosmetics, and collectables. There is a good amount of exploring without it feeling overwhelming. The DLC is pretty fun too. They add two exra levels you can play. I recomend this game for anyone who enjoys 3D platformers or games like Mario Galaxy and Mario Sunshine. It was well worth paying full price.

One of the Best 3D Platformers Ever

I absolutely adore this game, it has a charm I haven't felt from a game in a long time! To be brief, A Hat in Time is essentially everything you'd want in a modern 3D platformer. Tight and responsive controls, full controller support, a wonderful art style, a sense of humor that genuinely made me laugh out loud, fun abilities that are utilized and reincorporated throughout the game, optional challenges, hidden collectibles, I could go on all day. It has made me feel more in its 13~15 hours (not including the DLC) than just about any huge 80+ hour game I've played in the last few years. Simply put, you can tell this game had a dedicated team of people that clearly cared about this genre of game and worked to make an incredibly unqiue, creative, and timeless game with an identity all its own. When I say it's one of the best 3D platformers ever, I seriously mean that. I had a load of fun and I can't wait to see what Gears for Breakfast does next. Please get this game if you are a fan of old school 3D platformers, witty/childish humor, and a unique cast of adorable characters.

instant classic

My personal GOTY 2017

A game that I didn't expect to like, but became a favorite. Don't let the unconventional rendering style mislead you; it's well-made, well-written, and genuinely funny. Local coop and mod support only further sweeten the deal. The only major con is that the controller remapping menu SUUUCKS and did not work for me at all, even after an hour of tinkering. Still, the default controller scheme is good, and I don't don't recommend letting the menu fuckery dissuade you from picking this one up.

Good linear 3D platformer

An interesting 3D platformer where the hats all have a unique ability per ewach one, making collecting them such a big deal and each level very interesting and memorable, with only 1 time piece in each. Yet the levels, seem to be semi-open world as multiple levels'll have you come back to the same location but explore a different part of it. i think instead of reusing the same map for different levels it'd benefit from a tighter linear level design but it's still a blast and thank god it has voice acting instead of mumbling like I thought it would going in. Strangely makes such dark and serious things into goofy cartoony cute and funny things like the mafia, horror monsters, death and even hell. Very stylistic
