Why would Linux users want a client spying on them?
You know what "achievements" are REALLY for?
Not a "bonus" for the players: they make you play longer (while you "hopefully" buy more in-game content); they make you using the client instead of playing offline, so they can collect the player's usage data.
What we actually "need" is a thing making download & gameplay as easy as in Steam while NOT doing anything of the above. See "Heroic Games Launcher" for this (not being made by GOG is a good thing for such stuff: no temptation to do anything being bad for the user while good for GOG's income).

I would like to remind everyone that SteamOS *is* Linux Arch, so you'll have Steam Deck support out of the box, and, given how hugely better experience SteamOS provides over Windows, likely for many other handhelds.
