KiNgBrAdLeY7 Yeah. I voted too. There is a horde of idiots round these parts, who keep your posts bookmarked and log in together at correct time, to downvote en masse. I never cared about rep anyway, but i always cared about stooges who can exploit the, or any, system; while actually crying like sissies that they are fighting against it... The irony
Vainamoinen @bigblueogre: What gog officials have written there is what they wish the reputation system to be. On several occasions they have confirmed that it's not working as intended, and in fact it's going horribly, horribly wrong. They themselves have said they want to outphase the reputation system, rightly so, but to do that, they'd have to overhaul the whole forum software apparently. So I guess they'll close the forum thanks to the imbecile reputation system eventually.
Embrigand How is it a spamming fest? The GOG Support page on the Reputation System mentions that you won't get more rep for spamming. Taken from the page as seen here: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212183029-What-is-this-rep-thing-on-the-forums-.
"There is a number of ways you can earn and improve your rep, including actively spending time on the GOG.com forums (no, that doesn't include spamming)" Basically, users who are helpful, friendly or generous get rep. You lose rep for doing the opposite.

Reputation system gets abused, all new fair users like me get harassed with down voted reputation, you think this is useful ?
It is broken so remove it. But in then end, they won't because they don't care anyway.
And they get bad reputation at managing gog forums.

joppo I kinda do not agree with this. The system is obviously constantly abused and needs to be improved, but when you see that respected users like JMich have thousands of +Rep while people like Tauto have accrued thousands _negative Rep_ you get the impression it's not completely useless either.
I'd modify the system to be less prone to abuse, but drop it? I think it would just bring new problems in their place.
