seikus This system only serves to people that abuses downrepping people whithout showing themself. Doesn´t have any pther use.
JMayer70 I agree with Darvond. It is just a carte blanch for trolls and cowards and is also open to mass abuse by automated voting scripts. People using these should be banned.

I never cared about rep anyway, but i always cared about stooges who can exploit the, or any, system; while actually crying like sissies that they are fighting against it... The irony

Cifer84 It's "themselves" and "other", not "themself" and "pther". And reputation in the forum is an excellent function, so you see the difference between people who are really helpful and those who just write nonsense. That's a very good use.
Vainamoinen That's "you're", twice. And much of the problem doesn't hinge on "not getting rep". It hinges on losing rep. I could live with an uprep-system only. I've seen what kind of abusive posts regularly gather rep into the green, so I don't give a shit about self-congratulatory rep wanks and the fantasy that "good people get good rep". It's the same rep that assholes gather, given Tby other assholes or alt accounts. here is no 'good rep'.

V4V I second amurgaming. Also, the rating system wouldn't be as bad if low rated posts won't be hidden. Even with hiding turned off in the forum settings, a post will be hidden right after the user downvotes it (e.g. to counter an ongoing rep war). I don't know if the setting is on or off by default, "on" would be bad because then, the forum will hide posts from users who don't even know about this possibility.

elgonzo Numbers! All i can do is express my selfworth in numbers! Do not touch that number. It's my number. Do not call my number names, but feel free to call my number otherwise to talk about why the days of humankind are numbered if people start identifying with numbers. Crunching the numbers, i fear soon those of us who use numbers but do not equate themselves with numbers will be outnumbered by those who do. Just thinking about all this makes me feel numb...errrr...

It gives apriori about persons before we even get to talk to them.
Please remove this apriori feature and let people make their opinion about people on their own.

Vainamoinen So user noncompliantgame has just posted in the conspiracy nutter thread that he has six (and many more) alt accounts with which he downvotes others and upvotes himself, and he let some of his freshly made alt accounts post just to spite the angry community. If that isn't a clear sign that the reputation system is completely fucked on this forum, I really don't know what is.

It looks like somebody is using scripts to systematically downrep people - I think those deserve to get this fixed...
